Little Blog on the Prairie, by Cathleen Davitt Bell. 2010.
Genevieve Welsh is your standard suburban eighth-grader, starting high school in a few months. Her summer plans include soccer camp and swimming at the rec center with her friends. But her mother has different ideas and has signed up the whole family to Pioneer camp. Two months of living like it’s 1890. Bulky clothes, no electricity, no 21st century nothing. Gen is not a happy camper. She smuggles in her phone and texts her friends brief descriptions of what’s going on. What she doesn’t realize is that her friends are turning her texts into a blog.
