The Accidental Time Machine, by Joe Haldeman.
Matt Fuller, MIT research assistant and grad school dropout, accidentally invents a one-way time machine. The first time, it travels forward 1 second. The next time 12 seconds. The next, 12 times that. So he packs some supplies and hitches a ride with the machine, forwards to… what?
A light read, fun. A little too light, perhaps. Once the time travel started, I didn’t really get a sense of place. And some of the characters weren’t very developed. So yes, it was enjoyable, but I wished for more development.
