Top Words of 2011, by Global Language Monitor. November 11, 2011.

Do you think Arab Spring is something like Indian summer; that “fracking” is something they do on the Galactica; or that Seal Team Six is part of the Maquis?

The Global Language Monitor has compiled lists of the top ten words, phrases, and names for the past ten years. They say that the top word of 2011 is “Occupy”; the top phrase is “Arab Spring”; and the top name is “Steve Jobs.”
